Cameron County Emergency Communication District 9-1-1, dedicated subject matter experts devote their rigorous attention to the technological health of our systems and the accuracy of 9-1-1 data. As a result, our emergency response protocols leverage highly reliable data to enhance emergency response and further strengthen public confidence.

Cameron County Emergency Communication District GIS department was initiated as an effort to improve law enforcement, fire and ambulance services to unincorporated portions of the county. In response to the ineffective rural route and box addressing system, Cameron County Emergency Communication District adopted and implemented E9-1-1 addressing standards from NENA (National Emergency Numbering Association). The GIS department is currently assisting all county residents with assigning physical addresses and/or for those residents in transition from a rural route and box number to a physical address.
