Home Rural Addressing

Pinpointing locations beyond the city limit

Many people move to unincorporated areas of Cameron County to get away from it all. In times of crisis, the CCECD 9-1-1 addressing system provides first responders with a reliable way to serve rural callers.

Cameron County Emergency Communication 9-1-1 works closely with the Cameron County Transportation Department and respective cities on the plotting of new subdivisions and residents in the county’s jurisdiction.

Identifying your 9-1-1 address in rural Cameron County

Subdivisions

Some subdivisions are preaddressed. If you know your subdivision name, phase, lot and block OR your Cameron Appraisal District property ID, Cameron County Emergency Communication District 9-1-1 will be able to assist you by calling 866.286.8777.

The issuance of an address by the 9-1-1 District does not exempt any property owner from compliance with any municipality or County subdivision regulations.

For help verifying or letters of confirmation of the address, contact Cameron County Emergency Communication District GIS department at 866.286.8777.

If you are unsure whether your property is located within the city limits, CCECD 9-1-1 can assist you.

CCECD GIS department is responsible for assigning E9-1-1 addresses for most of the county’s unincorporated and incorporated areas To obtain a new address, please call our office at 866.286.8777.

Before contacting us, please be able to provide the following:

  • Legal Description (subdivision unit, Block, Lot)
  • Tax account number (Property ID or Geographic ID)
  • General directions
